Scott Bunch and Neal Alvis finished in second place with a weight of 7.68 pounds. The Morristown, Tennessee fished the mid section of Cherokee Lake around the bridge, targeting brush in various depths and shooting docks. Even with the high winds pushing through a cold front the team were still able to land 50 fish for the day using mostly AWD and Crappie Magnet Baits. Scott and Neal received a check for $600.00 and won the $250.00 Ranger Cup Bonus.
In third place was Tim Davis of Crab Orchard, Tennessee and Tom Vinette of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania weighing in at 5.87 pounds and earning $400.00. The team fished the South end of the 59 mile long Cherokee Lake pitching jigs in 25 feet of water. Tim and Tom said color of bait was not important, as they caught their 31 fish using several different colors for the day.
Joe and Janette Carter took fourth place in the Pro Division with a weight of 3.01 pounds. The Carter's trolled in various areas of the lake using chartreuse Road Runner jigs to land over 30 fish on Saturday. The Gilbert, South Carolina team won the Talon Bonus of $250.00.

Taking third place was the adult/youth team of William and Luke Houston of Thorn Hill, Kentucky weighing in at 2.46 pounds. Crappie USA Free Kids Fishing Rodeo
In conjunction with the tournament Crappie USA held their Kids Rodeo on Saturday morning. They caught a lot of fish and all the participants signed up for a chance to win one of 6-$1,000.00 scholarships to be drawn for at the Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic.
Crappie USA and our anglers have contributed nearly $334,000.00 to the “Crappie Kids” Scholarships since 1997. We are very proud to be a part of the education process for the youngsters who participate in our tournaments as adult/youth teams and those who fish in the Crappie USA “Kids Fishing Rodeos”.
Saturday saw temperatures in the high 40's with 25mph winds in the morning, increasing to 40mph in the afternoon. The water had dropped one foot this week lending the least favorable conditions of any location this season. Even so, Cherokee Lake and its 463 miles of shoreline and surrounding gentle, rolling hills and beautiful, peaceful country landscape attracts over 2.5 million visitors annually.
A Special thanks to Morristown area Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event this weekend. They worked hard in preparing for the event and simply could not control the weather conditions on the lake this weekend.
